July 19th - 24th

Great job this past week for those who logged their runs on Strava and were running on days you weren't able to make it to practice. This is a crucial time of our summer training so keep with it and it will pay off. We have cross country camp next Monday-Wednesday and we are super excited about that (Camp Info). If you haven't already turned in your permission slip and money please do so this week. If you are not able to make it to camp, we will not have practice here in town as most coaches and athletes will be there, we still want you to get some runs in on those days. LOG ON STRAVA!!

If you are planning on running during the season with us, please go to the eligibility page and complete all the required eligibility work necessary, at least get going on your Register My Athlete. This needs to be done by the first part of August so don't wait, get going on it!

We also need to get prizes and sponsors turned in for the Phoenix 5K coming up on August 7th. We also need to start getting the word spread about our race and get your neighbors and friends to come support us in this event. You as a team member are required to bring in 5 prizes (not from your pantry) to have for prizes and awards at the race. Here is a flyer you can print and take around to your neighborhood and post on Social Media and wherever else you feel like would be a good place to spread the word. You also need to fill out a registration online and select the appropriate form stating you are on the team and will bring in 5 prizes, otherwise I will charge you to enter the race. You can scan the form below or go to this link to register: 2021 Phoenix 5k Registration

Back at it!! - July 12th-17th

We are back from the Moratorium break and back in action. Hopefully everyone has been running during the break. I saw many out and about while on my drives with Driver's ed. Not everyone has been logging on Strava so starting now, a coach will be checking in with everyone frequently and making sure you are logging your runs on strava. This is NOT OPTIONAL. If you want to be a part of Farmington XC you will log your miles on Strava, that includes Varsity Runners. If you don't start logging, then you will not participate with Farmington XC this fall.

This week we will meet 4 times and we will continue to meet more and more often as we get closer to the season. We are 6 weeks away from our first meet of the season. With that, we need to be at practice as much as we can. There are a lot of things coming up that we need to be aware of and get going on. First is our XC Camp coming up in two weeks. The camp is July 26-28th. Below is a link to the flyer for the camp. Cost is $80 and will cover your food for the 3 days, the camp, and entry to the Logan Aquatic Center. You can pay with a check made out to Bear River High School. Bring payment and the registration form to practice this week and turn it in to Coach Brower. Summer XC Camp Flyer 2021

We also have our Phoenix 5K coming up in a month. I have already heard from some of you who have gotten sponsors and prizes, that is awesome!! Let's start bringing those prizes in to practice and giving them to one of the coaches. If you have a sponsor donating money, make checks out to Farmington High School Cross Country and turn those in to the office. If you haven't done anything yet, please get going so we can make this a great fundraiser. Go to the Phoenix 5K Page for more info.

Last thing we need to get cracking on is eligibility. As of right now only 5 boys and 2 girls have started their Register My Athlete. Please get going on that so we can get that eligibility taken care of. I will send a list to the front office so they can add the fees to your MyDSD so you can pay online. Please get your Physical and Register My Athlete taken care of as well as the team disclosure. Please go to the Eligibility Page for more info.

Moratorium - July 5th - 10th

Great job to everyone who competed in a 5k over the 4th of July weekend. We saw some great early season results and times. Results from the Time Trial last Monday are posted in the NERD Report listed on the left side of the home page, if viewing from a computer. If you are viewing this on a cell phone, scroll to the bottom and select "View Web Version" and then click on Nerd Report on the left side of the screen.

This week we have moratorium so we are not able to officially meet as a team. You can still get together with other teammates and organize runs on your own. We will return back at it a week from tomorrow (July 12th). Please don't take a week off and keep running. PLEASE post your runs on Strava. We want to see your runs during the moratorium week. Keep at it!!

We wanted to give more info out on our XC camp on July 26-28th. Below is a link to the flyer for the camp. Cost is $80 and will cover your food for the 3 days, the camp, and entry to the Logan Aquatic Center. You can pay with a check made out to Bear River High School. Bring payment and the registration form to practice when we get back from moratorium and turn it in to Coach Brower.
