January 27th - February 1st - Weber State Invite

Great job to all those who competed last weekend at the UHSTCA Indoor Championships. We saw a lot of great performances early in the season and that will set us up nicely for a great track season. This week we will continue practice and we will meet every day. Please do your best to be at practice as much as possible. This is the most important time for the upcoming track season. Get your friends to practice.

This Friday and Saturday there is a meet at Weber State. The field events will be held on Friday and the track events on Saturday. Please follow the schedule so you know when and where your event will be held. The track events Saturday are on a rolling schedule meaning they will start the next event as soon as they can. I have no idea what time exactly your event will be held. Show up earlier than you think and be ready to warm up as you get closer to your event. Please don't ask the coaches what time you will run because we have no idea. Here is info on the Weber State Indoor Invitational.

If you would like to compete at the Weber State Indoor Invite, please fill out this FHS WILDCAT SURVEY so coach Brower will sign you up. Do not sign up individually.

January 20th - January 25th - UHSTCA Indoor Championships

This week we start our 8th period track class on B days. Pay close attention to practice times so you know where to be and when to be there. We also have a meet going on at the oval this Friday and Saturday. If you are planning on racing/competing, please follow the directions below.

The UHSTCA Indoor Championships are this weekend at the Olympic Ice Oval in Kearns (West Valley) See the UHSTCA Indoor Championships link here to see an estimated schedule of events. We will sign you up if you would like to compete. If you are going to compete you need to complete the online waiver to be cleared to compete. Fill out the online waiver here. Once you have completed the waiver online, you are good to compete. You DO NOT need to sign up on runner card. We will do that for you. However, you need to fill out this online registration form so we know who to sign up for the meet this weekend. If you don't fill this survey out, you will not be entered into the meet.
We will not have a bus going to the meet so you can drive yourself or carpool to and from the meet. NOTE: It says indoor championships but it isn't a super crazy intense meet. Anyone who wants to participate can. This is the only "UHSTCA" (Utah High School Track Coaches Association) run meet and that's why we call it the indoor championships.
ALSO NOTE: There will be a $3 entrance fee for all spectators.

If you are not competing, get in a workout on your own. Talk to your event coach on what to do.

Distance: Increase mileage 10 % so you should be up to 80% if you have been running consistently since December.

January 13th - January 18th - BYU Indoor

Hey guys. Thanks to all those who have been coming to practice the past week. Remember to spread word and get your friends out to practice. This is the "Summer" of the track season meaning now is the time to get in shape and get ready for the season. If we want to be competitive this year we need our team at practice.

Thanks to those who have paid their $50 into the track account into the office. If you haven't paid yet, please get that in this week.

Also a reminder to get going on your eligibility. If you need a physical (haven't had one within the past year) you need to schedule one asap.

This week is the BYU Indoor Invitational. Because of legal issues I cannot sign you up. You will need to sign yourself up and you MUST do so online. There will be no day of race registration. Follow this link and follow the instructions to register online: BYU Indoor Invite

This meet is totally optional. If you can make it and can get a ride down there, great. If you can't make it, no problem. We will have a meet next weekend at the Olympic Oval in Kearns. More info to come with that.

Jan 6 - Jan 11 - First Week of Indoor Track

Track season is here. Hopefully everyone had a great break and are ready to get after it this track season. We will begin practices this week after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tell your friends, get everyone you can to come join the track team. If you haven't done so yet, please pay your $50 into the track account at the office.

If you haven't downloaded the app "Train Heroic" on your phone, please do so. Your specific event Coach will give you a code so you can see what your workout is for the day.
