They will only have the 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 at this meet with the 1600 starting at 4:30 PM. We will help get everyone signed up but you must fill out the registration form. If you have not ever raced at the oval before, you will need to fill this waiver out. If you have raced here before and filled it out, you do not need to do it again: Oval Competition Race Waiver

We also have our team shop up and running and will go through until the end of the week. If you don't place your order before it closes you will not be able to order anything. This is optional and will be a parent lead thing not affiliated with the school. Sidney Christy is in charge of this so if you have questions please reach out to her: sidney.christy@comcast.net If you want to purchase gear you may do so from this link: 2022 Farmington Track Team Store

If you could also please get on and get your eligibility at least started so we can begin the process of clearing everyone with their eligibility that would be helpful. A date on the sports physical night is still coming for those that would like to do it then I will keep you posted once I hear. If you need a physical and have one scheduled with your doctor, that is great as well. I need the physical or hard copy of your physical turned it to me.

January 24th-29th - WSU Cancelled Woods Cross Meet

We had a few athletes go down to BYU Friday and Saturday this past week and had a great showing representing Farmington well. Congrats to Henry Prusse for wining the 400 M with a time of 51.54. Congrats to Marianne Barber for not only winning the 200 M Dash in 25.52, taking 2nd in the 60 M Dash in 7.78, 2nd in the 400 M in 59.02 but for winning the Girl's outstanding track athlete of the meet award. Katrina Hirst also made the final of the 60 M Hurdles and placed 5th with a time of 9.99. Congrats to everyone who went and competed. Results can be found here: 2022 BYU Indoor Invite Results

This week we had originally planned for the Weber State Invite on Friday and Saturday but due to Covid they have been asked to cancel the high school indoor meet. As a result, Woods Cross has decided to host a time trial meet at their track outside. It should be about 40 degrees and sunny Friday so hopefully it stays that way. This will be a meet with a few schools bringing a few athletes and it is free. Just show up to the starting line. The meet will start at 3:30 and it will be a rolling schedule, meaning they will go from one event to the next not really knowing what time each event will start but here is the order of events: 1600, 400, 800, 200, 4x4.

If anyone is interested, there is a meet up in Idaho on Friday afternoon at Idaho State. Henry Prusse and his dad are going and have room for 5 more athletes if anyone is interested, reach out to Henry Prusse.

If you are interested in trying out pole vault, be please fill this survey out: Want to try Pole Vault?

As we are back in person now tomorrow, we will have track class during 8th period for those in the class. If you aren't in the class, run to the indoor track right after school to get going on your workout to catch the end of practice. If you are in the class and you need to receive fit for life credit for graduation, you need to email Coach Walkenhurst (kwalkenhurst@dsdmail.net) by Tuesday January 25th to be put on the list of those needed to be entered into a Canvas class to do a few extra assignments to get Fit For Life credit. There is also a $25 fee that needs to be paid at the front office. Just go in there after emailing coach Walkenhurst and letting them know you need to pay the fit for life credit fee.

January 17th-22nd

Remote learning week. This week due to high numbers of Covid cases at our school we will be doing remote learning Wednesday-Friday. As a result, we won't be meeting all together. Your individual event coach may still meet before/after school if they choose but we won't be gathering as a team until we get past this remote learning week. Please pay attention to your workouts on Train Heroic and get together with others if you are able and all feeling well. Be smart and stay home if you are feeling any Covid-19 symptoms. We will meet all together on Monday during track class at 1:10.

Let's keep after it this week with our training. For those who are going to BYU this week, please pay attention to the COVID upates on the runnercard page. If anyone wants to sign up still, you can do so until 8 AM on Friday. You will need to register on your own and you will need to find your own ride there and back.

January 10th-15th

We had a great first week of training last week and love to see all of you getting after it. Keep up the good work and remember workouts are being posted on Train Heroic so the days we don't meet, you still have workouts to get in on your own. This week we will meet Tuesday/Thursday again. Please tell your friends who are interested in doing track to come or recruit kids in the halls to come!

With the end of the semester coming up this week, please get your grades up and on track and clear up an potential U you might receive before they post it to your transcripts.

Here soon we will have info on our team store where you can purchase swag and gear for this upcoming season. Stay tuned!

Next weekend there is an indoor meet at BYU on the 21st and 22nd of January at the BYU indoor facility. Due to certain protocols and procedures at this meet, we will not be able to sign anyone up. You will need to sign yourself up and find your own ride to and from the meet. We won’t have a bus or anything like that. This is just for anyone who is interested in competing at this meet. It is $4 per event and registration is online at Runnercard here: 2022 BYU Indoor Meet registration

January 3rd - 8th - First Week of Indoor Track

I hope everyone had a great Winter break and a happy new year and are ready to get back at it. Hopefully you have been doing some training to stay and/or get in shape. If not, this is the week. We will meet a few times a week this week and post workouts in the app called "Train Heroic." If you have a smart phone, download that app, create a free profile, and then add a team using a password. Use the passwords below to join the team and gain access to the workouts. On the days we don't meet, we will still have workouts for you to do on your own or in small groups. We will meet more and more times a week throughout January and into February in preparation for Outdoor track. If you haven't already filled out the 2022 Indoor Track Sign up form, please go online and do so now.

Also, with the end of the term coming up you need to make sure you are going to be eligible to compete this 3rd term. What would make you ineligible for the 3rd term meets? 1. 2 Fs on the transcript for 2nd term. Doesn't matter if you make it up a week into 3rd term, that won't fly anymore like it has in the past. 2) Any U on your 2nd term transcript. Again you cannot make this up and compete once it's clear, when you get a U, you are ineligible until the next grading period comes out so please don't take it and make it up a week into 3rd term. Ask your teachers and get it taken care of NOW. If you make it up before the term, then you can avoid having it posted to your transcript but you have to talk to them before the term ends.
