March 16th - March 30th - 2 Week Corona Virus Moratorium

Hey team. What a week. We had a great first meet and saw some great performances. This year is already off to a better start than last year. I wanted to thank everyone for their help in running the meet Thursday. It definitely takes a lot of hands to make it run smoothly and I think we did just that so THANK YOU!!

RESULTS from our first tri meet Thursday.

Obviously this was also a very unique week with everything that happened with the Corona Virus. Due to the events we are not allowed to participate in any meets or hold practice. I am not sure where the rest of the season sits but as of now this is a 2 week moratorium so we should hopefully be able to get back on track the first week of April. I will update the blog as more info comes out. For the time being all of the workouts will be posted on train heroic. Make sure you look there for your workouts for your specific event groups.

If you don't have train heroic yet, please download it on a smart device and create an account. The access codes are as follows: "phoenixdistance", "phoenixthrows", and "phoenix7" for sprinters.

Do your best to get these workouts in and stay in shape during this two week moratorium. Also do your best to stay healthy. As far as school goes, it will be open to students from 8:30 AM to 12:30 AM for breakfast and lunch (in a grab and go manner) and small group tutoring from teachers to answer questions as needed. This will not be a place to just go and "hang out" with friends. Social distancing is what we are going for.

Our track gear from the online team store will get here Friday. We will plan on doing a quick grab and go on Monday and Tuesday of next week from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM in Coach Brower's Office.

Thanks for your patience with all of this. Hopefully we can get this out of the way and get back on with our season.

March 9th-14th - First Meet of the Season

Thanks to everyone who is consistently coming to practice. Make sure you scan out before you leave so we know who is at practice. If you are going to be gone (on the rare occasion), email Coach Brower (cbrower@dsdmail.net) and let him know or your event coach. If you miss a practice, we will not sign you up and you will not race at the following meet. Please make sure you are coming!

With our home meet coming up on Thursday we are in need of some volunteers to help us run a smooth meet. If you have siblings, parents or friends who would be interested in helping out, have them contact Coach Brower or go and sign up for a job at the following link: March 12th Home Meet Sign up

If you're new to Farmington track and need a uniform make sure you pay for it ($65) into the track account and we'll pass those out before practice on Tuesday at 12:45 PM in the gym (only to those who have paid for them).

It is now too late to join track. If you are participating in track you should have your eligibility done. If it's not done by Wednesday you will not compete in the meet Thursday. Go to the eligibility page and make sure everything is done if it's not already.

We are going to finalize our t shirt order this week so if you or your family and friends want shirts, please fill out this 2020 T shirt order form and pay your $10 into the office. The shirts will be a 50/50 cotton poly blend that will be grey with black letting. The logo will be very similar to the online team store logo. See image below:

March 2nd - March 7th

Thank you to everyone who has finished their eligibility. If you don't have your eligibility done by Tuesday at practice, then you will not be able to participate in track and field this year. If you are still needing a physical, we have a Spring physical night Monday March 2nd at 6:30 PM at the high school (wrestling room). The cost is $25 and all proceeds go back to the school. This is a great way to support our school and get your physical done quickly. Please don't forget to pay for your participation and transportation fees at the office ($90) and also if you don't have a uniform from last year then pay for your uniform ($65) into the track and field account.

We are still going with our t-shirt order this week so if you haven't filled out the link and you or any family member would like a track shirt fill out the 2020 FHS Track T-shirt order form and pay your $10 into the track account at the office.

We are just over a week away from our first meet (March 12th) so let's make sure we are at practice and ready to go. Make sure you come every day and that you sign out with your event coach before you leave.
