It is here. The week of Region has arrived. Everything we have been training all summer and season for is this race. For those who will not go on to state this will be your last week of UHSAA cross country. You are still welcome to come to practice and be a part of the team but this is the last race of the high school season. Let's make it count. One other thing to add to your calendars is November 1st. We are putting together a team banquet for that night and will be putting it on at the high school commons (cafeteria) Thursday November 1st @ TBA. I will give out more information as we finalize plans for that night but please add that to your calendars.

I will also be rolling out more info on footlocker once we have final approval on the trip but just to give you a heads up it will be November 29th-December 2nd. We will leave early Thursday morning to Walnut, California and get back Sunday night. It will likely be about $300 per athlete for hotel, bus, and a ticket in to Knott's berry farm. If you are interested in going will you please fill this link out. Thanks.

Park City Week

Great job last week everyone. We all ran some really fast times in Taylorsville on Friday on a quick 3 mile course. Good work!! We have a lot of sickness going around right now so it is really important that we be smart the next few weeks. If you are sick, please get the rest you need and stay well hydrated. Don't be sharing drinks with others and if you are sick please try to keep your distance from other team members so we aren't just spreading this all over to everyone. We have just a few weeks left so please make sure you are doing all of the little things we always ask you to do.

Davis County Championships

Great job to everyone at the race last week at Murray. Despite being tired and beat up from workouts and racing on a slower course than Weber State we did quite well. It was fun to compare individual times from the longer slower course and see some individuals still improving their time. Keep up the hard work!! We just have a little bit longer of some tough tiring weeks and then we will begin our taper and start backing off to help feel fresh come race day. You'll notice that we have one race this week and it's on Wednesday. Please refer to the schedule for all info on the bus and meet.

A big thanks to the Lawson family for letting us do our team dinner at their home. Also thanks to Jefferies, Hill, Fulton, and Fisher families for the help. This week we will have our team dinner on Tuesday at the Haven home (59 W 1800 S Kaysville).

**I have created a google photo album to store pictures you take during meets. If you have any pictures from any meets please go to this link and upload them.

If you are interested in purchasing a Farmington XC yard sign please do so by Friday (09/14) as that will be the last day the Wall's will be collecting money for those signs. Either give the money ($10) to Adam Wall at practice or contact Cecilie Wall at 801.725.9830.

September is Here

What a great week we had last week. We had some great workouts and we ran some awesome times at the meet Friday in Ogden. I was proud again to be a phoenix. Keep up the hard work and doing all the little things. I also want to let you all know that I have received some very good feedback from other teams and their parents on how nice our team is to cheer for others and how we are very classy. Thank you for being great kids. When it's time to compete we go give it our all but we can be classy while we are at meets so thank you for being great teammates to one another and for showing good sportsmanship cheering on other teams.

Thanks to the Thornton's for letting us use their home for the team dinner last week (and thanks to the Haven, Spackman, and Vasquez families).

Now one thing I would like to comment on is that of riding the buses to and from meets. I know that it's hard to miss classes for meets but we don't miss super often and we don't have that long of a season. I apologize for the change in schedule for some of you parents going to the meet Friday but sometimes that happens and they switch things up. It doesn't happen often but it's reason like that why I want all the kids on the bus so you are there ready to warm up and be ready to go for your race. If for whatever reason you aren't going to be riding the bus you NEED to tell one of us coaches. I was at the meet with a handful of bibs of kids who didn't ride the bus and none of us coaches knew if they were coming to race or not. Please communicate with us if you can't make the bus for whatever reason.

Okay enough about that, let's get to this week.

Monday September 3rd: 7:00 AM @ Heritage Park (in Farmington, North of Maverik on Shephard)
If you are out of town I would like you to get in a hard run. If you are in a hilly place, get a good hard hill run in, if you aren't next to hills, get in a 2-3 mile tempo run @30 seconds slower than goal race pace.

Tuesday September 4th: 3:15 PM @ Farmington High School

Wednesday September 5th: 3:15 PM @ Farmington High School

Thursday September 6th: 3:15 PM @ Farmington High School
Team Dinner @the Lawson Home (221 Windmill Court, Kaysville) @ 6PM
Bring $3.

Friday September 7th: Murray Invite @ Murray Park - Buses leave @ 12:30 PM (Excused at 12:15). Buses meet by the track, next to the concession stand corner.
