July 29th - August 3rd

Camp Week:
Those going to camp Mon-Wed please make sure your parents know where to drop you off and where to pick you up. Pick up will be at Willow Park in Logan (Logan Aquatic Center) on Wednesday. Please make sure they know this. Look over the packing list and get ready for a fun time. Those not going to camp we will still have practice on Monday, Thursday and Friday this week.

Phoenix 5K Announcements:
If you have anyone that is donating money to sponsor our Phoenix 5k, I need to have logos in to me by 10 AM tomorrow (Monday) if they want them on the shirts. I need to get them ordered so we get them in time. To make sure I have the correct number of shirts, I need everyone to fill out a registration form for the race. Everyone on the team needs to fill this out. Tell your friends and family to get signed up so I can get the correct numbers on the shirts. Fill out a registration form here.

Weekly Practice Schedule:

Monday July 29th - 7 AM @ Ponds Park
Those going to camp meet in Collinston at 7:30 AM.

Tuesday July 30th - Camp all day for those there, if you are not at camp get in 3-6 miles on your own.

Wednesday July 31st - Camp all day for those there, if you are not at camp get in 3-6 miles on your own.
*Fall Physical Night.
  • The Fall Physical Night will be on July 31st at Layton IHC just west of I15 on Layton Parkway. The office is on the south end of the hospital on the third floor. It will start at 6:00 PM and end right around 7:30. Please make sure the players physicals are filled out BEFORE they arrive and the $25 fee needs to be either cash or check. If they need to pay with the credit card they can pick up their physicals in the main office the next day after they pay in the office. - This is for those that need a physical for the upcoming cross country season. You need a new one every year and can do it here or with your regular doctor. Visit the eligibility page to find the physical form.

Thursday August 1st - 7 AM @ Farmington Park (Behind the rec center)

Friday August 2nd - 7 AM @ Forbush Park

July 22nd - July 27th

CROSS COUNTRY CAMP INFO: Camp is Monday July 29 - Wednesday July 31
Those who are going to cross country camp need to turn their registration and money in to coach Brower tomorrow (Monday) at practice. Checks need to be made out to BEAR RIVER CROSS COUNTRY. You need to arrange your own way to get there and back so talk to those going and see if you can have someone drive you there and pick you up. Drop off location is different than the pickup location. Pick-up location will be at Willow park in Logan by the aquatic center. If you have any questions feel free to ask coach Brower.

With the end of July coming in quickly, we really need to get moving on eligibility stuff. I only have 6 boys and 10 girls who have started their register my athlete. I need this done ASAP. I am already starting to get people signed up for our first race as entries are limited to a set number so if you don't get your eligibility done soon you may not be racing at Highland. Please don't wait. Go to the Eligibility page to see what all you need to do.

This week is also the last call for sponsors for our Phoenix 5k. I need to have logos turned in to me by the end of the week so I can insure that the company gets their logo on our shirts. So get out there and get some sponsors. Also let's start bringing prizes in to practice. Give them to Coach Brower on Monday or Coach Lynch and Coach Ritchie on Thursday and Friday at practice.

Also let's get people signing up for the race. Use this link to sign up for the Phoenix 5k. I need everyone going to be there to sign up to get the correct amount of sizes so please fill this out.

Wednesday July 24th - No team practice. Run 3-6 miles on your own or run in a 24th of July race. Happy Pioneer day!

Thursday July 25th - 7 AM @ Heritage Park (In Farmington, North of Shephard Ln)

Friday July 26th - 7 AM @ Farmington High School

Saturday July 27th - No team practice. Run 4-10 miles on your own.

Cross Country Camp

I need to know who is planning on attending cross country camp in 2 weeks (July 29-31). If that is you please print off the registration/release form HERE and bring it to coach Brower with your fees. It is $75 for a 3 day 2 night camp which is actually very reasonable. You do not have to go but I need to have everything turned in to me by next Monday the 22nd. Thanks!

July 15th - 20th

This week let's really start getting things rolling for our Phoenix 5k coming up on the 10th of August. We need each of you to help out to make this a success. HERE is the link with the flyer you can bring around with you if people want more info on what we are doing. If you can't find sponsors then go and get 5 prizes from somewhere (usually people will donate some coupons or gift cards or swag of some sort).  Everyone needs to get 5 prizes. If you don't get your 5 prizes then you will be paying for your entry into the race. Thanks for your help with this, we can't do it without you.

To register for the race this year we will be doing some pre-registration by filling out this registration form. Below is the flyer to the race. Pass it out and send it to your friends and family and let's get word out about it.

Friday July 19th - 7 AM @ Skater Park (1384 S Frontage Rd, Farmington)

July 8th - 13th

Hopefully everyone had a great 4th of July and that you got some runs in still and logged them on Strava. If you didn't log your miles on Strava please go back and record those so we know where you are at. We are back to meeting this week. Please be at practice as much as you can. The season is fast approaching. We are just over a month away from our first meet of the season. Yes you read that right. Our first race is August 14th at Highland. We need to make sure we are doing the little things (sleep, nutrition, hydration, rolling out, stretching).

Let's get on our eligibility stuff now as we don't want to wait for forever to get that stuff in. I need that by August 7th. Look in last week's post for info on the team physical night it will be July 31st if you need to get a physical. We also have XC camp coming up the end of July and our Phoenix 5k is about a month away. Let's start spreading word and starting bringing in prizes and sponsors. Visit the Phoenix 5k page for info regarding our fundraiser.

Here is the skinny with sponsors. If you have sponsors that would like to donate and are donating an amount smaller than $250, then you can take your check (made out to "Farmington High School Cross Country") to the school and give it to Susan Spencer (head secretary) and you can get a "receipt" to give back to sponsors for their records. If they are donating an amount of $250 or more, then bring the check to Susan Spencer and we will send it to the Davis Foundation where sponsors will get an official thank you and receipt. Also, if a company is donating over $200 then ask them for a logo of their company and we will get it on the back of our race shirt.
