WHERE: Farmington High School 5K Course Map Kids Mile
WHAT: The Phoenix 5k is our big cross country fundraiser. We will be hosting a race and need your help in order for it to be a success. Here is what we need each of you athletes to do:
1. Find some sponsors. This could be friends or family that would like to help support our cause or even businesses that would like to help out. We would like you to go around to businesses you may know or that you live close to and ask if they would be willing to help sponsor our cross country team and our race. If a business donates $300+ we will include their logo on our Phoenix 5k T-shirt. Checks can be made to "Farmington High School Cross Country."
2. Collect 5 prizes to bring to the race. These could be things companies donate to the race like free meal combos or any cool equipment that would be fun to give away as a prize. It doesn't matter what it is as long as you have at least 5 prizes. If you are too lazy to go around and collect prizes then you can go and buy 5 prizes but most places will be willing to give at least something. If they want a letter or more info on this give them this link or print this off and give it to them.
3. Bring 5 people with you to the race. We want this to be a big, fun event and need your help getting people to come so spread the word and try to bring 5 people with you to the race.
If you can do these things, then you (as athletes) don't have to pay to run the race. If you don't at least get prizes, you will pay to race just like everyone else.
We will have a 5k race that will start and finish at the school and do a pancake breakfast after the race is over. Awards will be given and prizes will be drawn. Everyone will walk away with at least some sort of prize. It's going to be a lot of fun so please put forth some effort to make this event a successful one.
Here's the deal on funds raised. I will give back to you 50% of whatever you bring in that can go towards the following things (in this order):
1. Uniform Purchase
2. Spirit Pack
3. End of year banquette
4. Approved Future track or XC Fees (Ask Brower)
I can't credit back in money but again the funds you raise can help go towards anything on the list above.
