October 25th - 30th - STATE & JV STATE

We had a great training week this past week with some great quality workouts. We are now primed and ready to go for the State championships this Wednesday at the RAC in Rose Park for Varsity and Saturday in Spanish Fork for everyone else. Our girls and boys will race at 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM at the soccer complex and as it looks right now girls JV will be at 11:20 Saturday and boys at 12:00 PM. This may change based on entries into the races so keep a close eye here as well as RunnerCard for more info.

Wednesday's race will be at the Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) in Rose Park. Bus will leave FHS at 2:00 PM. I will excuse the team at 1:40 PM to get out to the bus. It will cost money to watch the race but I will pay for athletes on the team that ride the bus. If you don't ride the bus and drive on your own you will be expected to pay for a parking pass to get in to the event. If you are planning on riding the bus to state please fill this form out: 2021 STATE XC Bus

Tickets into the STATE championships will be based on the carload going into the park as you can't park anywhere else except for in the park. So if you have 1-2 people in the car it will cost $10. If you have 3 or more in a car it will be $20. If you are bringing an RV or other oversized vehicle it will cost $40 as it will take up more parking spots. Here is the link to buy your parking voucher: 2021 State XC Parking Voucher  You will need to purchase the voucher before hand by credit card, they will not have a cash option at the park. Please buy these in advance.

Saturday's race will be an on your own event. That means we won't have a bus going down so you would need to get your own ride down to Spanish Fork if you are interested in going. I will sign up whoever wants to race down there, if you haven't already done so, please sign up for the JV STATE Championships by Wednesday night at midnight here: 2021 JV State Registration I will post a course map once I get one but it will be at the Spanish Fork Sports Park - 295 Volunteer Dr, Spanish Fork, UT 84660

October 18th-23rd

Congrats to our boys and girls varsity teams as they both qualified for State on the 27th. The girls were third in their division race and 6th in the 6A meet merge. The boys won their division and were 1st on the 6A merge. Both our boys and girls cross country teams will compete at the 2021 UHSAA State Championships at the Regional Athletic Complex at Rose Park on the 27th at 4 PM and 4:30 PM. Results for the divisional race can be found here: 2021 6A Divisionals.

Another big thanks to the Hildreth's for hosting our team dinner last week and to the Bradshaws for helping. We don't have any races this week and no team dinners. More info to come on our next one.

This week we don't have a ton going on, mostly practice and gearing up for State with our varsity teams. We did get some good news on Friday and the trip has been approved by the parent survey, now we will send it off to the district for final approval and booking of the trip so more info to come but we are getting closer. We are 5 weeks away from NXR so please make sure we are taking care of ourselves and coming to practice. If we aren't able to take all 66 of you wanting to go, we may need to look into narrowing it down to 52 and if that's the case we may look at those coming to practice vs those who aren't and that may help make the decision on who goes and who doesn't so please come to practice.

We just found out about a new meet on October 30th. This will be the JV State Championships down in Spanish Fork. This is a new race that they are trying to put together and have as a race in the future every year. Anyone not competing at the UHSAA Varsity Championships on the 27th can attend. I need to get the team signed up if anyone wants to go. We will not be doing a bus down the Spanish fork but if you guys want to get yourselves down there to race, I will sign you up. Please fill out this form if you are interested in going to this race. 2021 JV State Registration Thanks! Here is a tentative schedule for that Saturday (30th):

October 11th - 16th - Divisionals (First Round of State)

What another great week to be a Phoenix. Our boys JV put in 9 of the top 10 in their race to win with 18 points. Our JV Girls were a super close 2nd place only 1 point behind Weber. Both our boys and girls varsity teams brought home the region trophy. Our boys finished 1,2,3,4,6 to score 16 points snapping Davis' 25+ year streak of winning region 1. Our girls came away with a 44-68 win over Davis and Layton. What a fun day for everyone. Great job and thanks for not only being great runners but more importantly, thanks for being great people.

This week we have Divisionals for our varsity teams on Tuesday. We are only ordering one bus for this one so only the varsity team will be heading down to this one, especially since it is during school. It's going to be snowing and raining the whole time anyway so it'll be a crazy day. When we go to state on the 27th, we will have 2 buses so we can take the whole team.

Huge thanks to the Austin's for helping host the team dinner last week. And thanks to the Browns and Muirbrooks for helping out with the region dinner last week. This week we are having the team dinner on Monday night at 6 at the Hildreth household. The Bradshaws and Martineaus will be helping. Everyone is still invited, even though not everyone will be racing. 745 S. Burlrush Rd. Farmington

For those planning on going to NXR please tell your parents to check their email and make sure to respond to the survey ASAP. Hopefully we can get the trip booked later this week once we get it approved and then we will know more details on the trip.

October 4th - 9th - Region Championships

We had another great week at the Davis District Championships. There were 6 total races with the FR/SO, JR/SR, and varsity races and Farmington brought home the win in all 6 of those. Congrats to everyone. It was a fun day. Results for the race can be found here: 2021 Davis District Championships

This week we have our Region 1 XC Championships back at Layton Park. This will be the last race of the UHSAA season for most of you so let's get after it. The course is also different than the one we did last week at District Championships. See the course map below for the exact course but essentially it will be similar to our Pre-region race, only it will be 3 laps and a 3 mile race.

We also have a team dinner this week at Britton and Trey Austin's home. The Waites and the Browns are also helping out. This is usually a fun dinner with it being the one right before region so come!! It will be at 6 PM and the captains will have some words of wisdom for everyone. Address is 2137 S 100E in Kaysville. Thanks to the Nelsons, Havens and Jacobsmeyers for their help at last week's team dinner.

With the NXR conversation, we have filled all the spots on the bus. If you are still wanting to go, still fill this form out so we have an exact count and then we can decide if we need to get another bus or van to go down or what we need to do: If you are interested in going to NXR, fill this form out: NXR 2021 Registration
