2025 Track & Field Info

Welcome to Farmington High School Track & Field

This is a page with a lot of information, please reference this site if you have any questions, and then feel free to contact the coaches.

Logistics

Track Class 8th period

We have a Track class during 8th period, and everyone is encouraged to get in the class. This allows us to miss fewer classes when we leave early for races, to finish practices earlier and have more time for family, homework, work, or otherwise. Furthermore, with space being at a premium here, the track class is our one sacred time to have the stadium to ourselves without being bombarded with soccer or lacrosse balls. The class is not mandatory, but it is encouraged.

On non-class days we will begin practices at 2:35.

On class days, students who are not in the class will come to practice as quickly as they are able (arriving by approximately 2:35) and begin the warm up.

Relays

Relays are a bit tricky, in that teams can change from week to week, or they can stay largely the same all year and never change, or they can stay the same most of the year and only change for state. Relay teams will be put together by deciding where each athlete will best help our team. In some cases the fastest runner may not be on a relay team, instead focusing on their individual events. In other cases, like often at state, those athletes will then be put onto the relay team. The only way to secure your spot in a relay is to make sure you are consistently hitting the best times on the team in your event, and that you have proven dependable and reliable.

Meet information

You can find the meet schedule for the season here.

Please view the links below for more information on each of the track meets. Please be aware that in the case of most invitationals there is some kind of entry limitation, meaning in total numbers or by event standards that one must have hit before being entered. Each meet is a bit unique, so you'll want to look at each one as they come up.
