10/15 update

Phoenix,

State

On Tuesday at divisionals we went down and took care of business, and punched our tickets to state. The state meet is on Tuesday 10/24 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Rose Park. The girls will race at 3:30, the boys at 4:30.

I honestly cannot believe that we are here already. It's been a fun season, with a lot of learning experiences for all of us. With two weeks left before the "post season" let's make every moment count. This coming week we will only have 3 days together, with Thursday and Friday off of school. I'm planning the workouts for next week to be Monday/Wednesday/Saturday, so that the two days with no school you can use to recover, and just run when and where you want (vita anyone?). I will post the workout for Saturday at a later date.

Now that all the races are concluded, based on divisionals and other races, the girls are ranked 8th, and the boys are 7th. With our best day of racing we could definitely move up in placement. Let's make sure that we are all ready to run and support as best we can so we can have our best day. I'd love to go avenge the losses at region as well.

The buses will leave at 2 PM.

We'll do an optional team dinner afterwards at Cafe Rio, so bring some money if you'd like to join.

NXR (11/16-18)

We are going to use a separate group chat via groupme for NXR details. Those attending need to be in that chat (unless they don't have a smart phone, we'll have a separate communication method for those few). Parents not attending are also welcome to be on that chat if you'd like to follow along during the trip. It's basically for coordinating times for departures, meals, etc. I'm also going to use it henceforth to share nxr information, so that I'm not spamming the general posts.

Please join that chat as soon as possible - NXR 2023 Groupme

The numbers are very nearly finalized for the trip. We have 83 kids so far who are wanting to come, which is awesome! I'm really looking forward to it. The price has dropped significantly, so we're looking closer to that 400-415 range, instead of nearly 500.

As shared previously, this isn't a school sponsored trip, payment will not go through the school. Dave Austin (Trey's Dad), like last year, has graciously offered to collect the funds from each athlete, and use them to pay for the buses, hotels, race fee, and lunch on Saturday after the race (Jimmy John's boxed lunch - more info on that in the coming weeks). Once I have the final amount nailed down (hopefully early next week) I'll send out the way to get him paid.

With 83 kids, we could use a few more chaperones. Currently we have 4; 2-4 more would be great. We are running low on rooms (which is good) but I think I can add a few more to accommodate either more kids or chaperones.

If you have a status change and can no longer come, or you'd like to come. I need to know ASAP.

Looking forward to a great final few weeks.
