Effort
How much effort is needed to be successful? While giving “110%” is impossible, 100% is
not. In the quest for excellence, 100%
effort must be the norm, not the exception.
This includes all phases of training: warmup, drills, technique work,
diet, sleep, etc.
If 99.9% is good enough then each year.....
*26,000 surgeries will be botched;
*158,400,000 checks will be deducted from the wrong
accounts;
*69,063,840,000 phone calls will be misplaced by
telecommunication services;
*2,488,200 books will be shipped with wrong covers;
*6,570 commercial airline crashes will happen;
*4,380 newborns will be given to the wrong parents;
*114,500 mismatched pairs of shoes will be shipped;
*160,500,720 pieces of mail will be mishandled;
*2,000,000 documents will be lost by the IRS;
*315 entries in Webster’s Dictionary will be
misspelled;
*5.5 million cases of soft drinks will be flat;
*291 pacemaker operations will be performed
incorrectly;
*20,000 incorrect drug prescriptions will be written.
Don’t settle for 99.9%!!!!
