Phoenix,
I hope you all had an enjoyable fall break, and that you enjoyed your time away. This week is already a little weird based on Monday off and Tuesday basically off.
This week
Tuesday (today) - we're going to meet at 2 PM at the regional park for the workout. We'll be doing step down 600s with some 200m strides afterwards.
Wednesday-Friday is the typical schedule. Note that Wednesday is a B day.
Saturday - On Saturday morning we'll be helping at the local "Howloween Half Marathon" which will be at the regional park. The race director offered to donate a good chunk of change to our team if we could come help at the aid stations. After sending out that poll we had enough responses that I agreed to cover those stations. So... if you said you can come, please follow through now that the race is counting on us. For everyone who helps they will have food for us afterwards (pancakes last year, not sure this year). I will also throw in a two "vouchers" two pick up gatorade mix packs and protein bars for you to grab at your leisure - I'll have them at the school for you when you need a boost. Just come by my room and we'll hook you up when you need them. You could use all four at once if you're so inclined just so you have them.
Honestly, it's going to be a lot of fun. We're going to help with packet pick up and at the aid stations. He's asking us to come at 6:45 to help with packet pick up. I only need a handful of you there at that time, but then we'll need everyone who can to come at 7:30 to prep for the aid stations.
The trickiest part is going to be when to get your run in. It will just be an easy mid-long run. I'll meet anyone who wants to go beforehand and go with them, or you can do an afternoon run later. Maybe I'll send out a poll about that so we can coordinate.
I'm not going to send out a mileage per day prescription this week, just plan your mileage accordingly so you can get to 80-85%
State Championships
The bus for state will leave on Wednesday 10/30 at 10 AM. We only have one bus, but I want it completely full. Everyone who came to divisionals to support will get first dibs, then everyone else should load up. We have room for nearly the entire team.
JV State
JV state is on 11/2. If you'd like to participate, email me and let me know so I can register you. The cost is $8 per athlete. I'll send the link out to pay after I've registered you.
If you have any questions please let me know.
